I'm Billy Peralta, an independent SharePoint and Microsoft 365 consultant based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

This page explains what information I collect through billyperalta.com, how I use it, and how you can contact me about your privacy.

Information you provide

When you use my contact form, I collect the details you submit, which may include:

When you request a downloadable checklist, I collect the information you provide in that form so I can process your request and deliver the resource.

Contact and checklist submissions are stored in SharePoint lists within my Microsoft 365 environment.

Website analytics and attribution

I use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the website, which pages are useful, and where traffic comes from. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages visited, interactions, approximate location, browser and device information, and identifiers associated with analytics cookies.

The website also stores limited first-touch information in your browser:

This information is replaced when you return more than 90 days later, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

When you submit the contact form or the checklist form, limited attribution information is included with your submission: the first page you visited, the referring website, campaign tags, which link on my site you followed, and the page you were on. The checklist form also records your device type (desktop, tablet, or mobile). This helps me understand whether visitors find my services through search engines, AI assistants, LinkedIn, referrals, or other sources.

I do not store full referring URLs, full URL query strings, or search queries in these records.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the site does not load Google Analytics. You can also opt out of Google Analytics on all websites with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

AI chat assistant

My website includes an AI chat assistant that answers questions about my experience, services, and technical content. When you use the assistant, your messages are processed by an Azure OpenAI model to generate responses.

Chat interactions are also logged in my Microsoft 365 environment. Before a message is logged, email addresses, common phone number formats, and passwords, codes, and tokens the system recognizes are replaced with [REDACTED].

Automated redaction may not catch everything. Please don't enter passwords, access tokens, confidential company information, or other sensitive details into the chat.

Submitting a form does not subscribe you to marketing emails. I may contact you to respond to your enquiry or deliver a resource you requested.

These providers process information to deliver their services. Depending on the service and its configuration, information may be processed outside Canada.

To protect the site, the services that handle forms and the chat assistant record security events, such as blocked or rate-limited requests, with the IP address, browser details, and referring page involved. These logs are kept in Microsoft Azure for a limited period and are used for security monitoring and troubleshooting, not marketing.

I do not sell personal information collected through this website.

How long information is kept

I keep contact enquiries and checklist requests for up to two years from the date I receive them, and then delete them.

First-touch information stored in your browser is kept for up to 90 days, unless you clear it earlier.

Other information is kept only as long as needed for the purposes described on this page, subject to legal and operational requirements.

Your privacy questions and requests

You can ask me what personal information I hold about you, request a correction, or ask about deletion, subject to applicable legal requirements. You can also ask how your information is collected, used, or stored.
