SharePoint and Microsoft 365 Training for Your Team

Live, private training built around your own tenant and the way your team works.

I train employees, site owners, administrators, and developers to use and run SharePoint, Power Platform, and SPFx in your organization. Sessions are remote and interactive, the examples come from your environment, and each one is planned around what people need to be able to do afterwards.

16+ years with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert Power Platform Developer Associate Remote, from Vancouver, BC

When training makes sense

  • You moved to SharePoint Online and Teams, and people still email attachments or save everything to their desktop.
  • Someone has inherited SharePoint administration and needs to understand permissions, sharing, and site lifecycle quickly.
  • A migration or intranet project is ending, and your team now has to own what was built.
  • Business users build Power Apps and flows, and nobody has shown them how to make those supportable.
  • Your developers have to maintain SPFx web parts that someone else wrote.
  • You are preparing for Microsoft 365 Copilot and want site owners to understand what they are sharing.

Training tracks

Four starting points. Each session takes the modules your team needs, and one session will not cover every module.

SharePoint for employees and site owners

Employees, team leads, content owners, and site owners.

  • How SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive fit together, and where each kind of file belongs
  • Document libraries: version history, co-authoring, and restoring files
  • Sharing a file or a site, and checking who can see it
  • Metadata, views, and search instead of deep folders
  • Running a site: owners, members, and keeping content current

Afterwards: Attendees can handle everyday document work, share safely, and recognize when a permissions or site question needs the admin.

SharePoint and Microsoft 365 administration and governance

SharePoint and Microsoft 365 administrators and IT support teams.

  • Site administration, ownership, and lifecycle for inactive and ownerless sites
  • Permissions, Microsoft 365 groups, guests, and external sharing settings
  • Access reviews and oversharing reports before and after Copilot
  • Retention and sensitivity labels: what admins need to decide
  • Troubleshooting common access and sharing problems

Afterwards: Admins can run routine administration with confidence, spot the common governance risks, and know which questions need security or compliance specialists.

Power Apps and Power Automate

Business analysts, power users, citizen developers, and the IT staff who support them.

  • Canvas apps on SharePoint lists, and when a list is no longer enough
  • Approvals, notifications, and document flows
  • Triggers, connections, and what breaks when the owner leaves
  • Error handling, run history, and monitoring
  • Solutions, environments, and basic Power Platform governance

Afterwards: Attendees can build or maintain simple apps and flows, fix the common failures, and recognize when a solution needs proper architecture.

SPFx development for internal teams

SharePoint developers and JavaScript or TypeScript developers taking over SharePoint work.

  • SPFx project structure, toolchain versions, and a working development setup
  • React web parts and extensions
  • Calling SharePoint and Microsoft Graph with PnPjs and the Graph client
  • API permissions and least-privilege access
  • Packaging, deployment to the app catalog, and upgrading existing solutions

Afterwards: Developers understand the SPFx lifecycle and can build, troubleshoot, and maintain a web part at the level their existing skills allow.

Formats

Focused session
60 to 120 minutes on one topic, such as sharing and permissions for site owners, or what to do before a Teams rollout.
Half-day workshop
Three to four hours for one role, with demonstrations and guided exercises.
Full-day workshop
For technical subjects such as administration, Power Platform, or SPFx, with hands-on work.
Series of sessions
Shorter sessions over several weeks, so people practise between them. Suits admin handover and developer teams.

All training is live and remote. This is private training for your organization, not a public course.

What is included

  • An agenda agreed with you before the session, built around your team's actual work
  • Examples from your own environment, so the training matches the sites and processes people use
  • Exercises on a test site, so nobody practises on live content
  • Reference notes for attendees to keep
  • A recording, if you want one and it is agreed in advance

Example: a half-day workshop for site owners

A typical agenda for new site owners after a move to SharePoint Online. Yours would be adjusted to your sites and your team.

  1. 30 min How your intranet, team sites, Teams, and OneDrive fit together
  2. 45 min Permissions and sharing: who can see what, sharing links, and guests
  3. 45 min Setting up a library: columns, views, and version history
  4. 45 min Hands-on: owners set up and share a library on a test site
  5. 30 min Owner responsibilities, where to get help, and questions

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell me about your team

Who will attend, what they need to be able to do afterwards, and any dates you have in mind.

  2. 2

    Agenda and quote

I propose an agenda and a format, and we adjust it until it fits.

  3. 3

    Preparation

We arrange a test site and any access the exercises need, and I gather examples from your environment.

  4. 4

    Live training

Remote and interactive, on Microsoft Teams or the meeting tool you use.

  5. 5

    Follow-up

Reference notes, and answers to the questions that come up once people start using what they learned, for a follow-up period we agree up front.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer private SharePoint training for employees in Canada?

Yes. I run live, remote training for one organization at a time. I am based in Vancouver, BC, and work with teams across British Columbia and elsewhere in Canada.

Can the training use our own SharePoint sites and processes?

Yes, and it works better that way. I build the examples around your sites, libraries, and processes, and the hands-on exercises run on a test site so nobody changes live content.

How many people can attend a training session?

I deliver live, remote training for teams of different sizes, including groups of 20 to 50 people. For hands-on workshops where everyone follows along in a test environment, smaller groups work better. Larger teams can be divided into multiple sessions to give attendees more opportunities to ask questions and practise.

Do you train SharePoint and Microsoft 365 administrators?

Yes. The administration and governance track covers site lifecycle, permissions, guests and external sharing, access reviews, and what admins need to decide about retention and sensitivity labels.

Can you train our developers on SPFx, Power Apps, and Power Automate?

Yes. There are separate tracks for Power Platform makers and for SPFx developers. If your team is taking over existing solutions, we can use that code and those flows as the course material.

Is this certification exam training?

No. This is practical training on how your organization uses Microsoft 365, not preparation for a Microsoft certification exam.

How much does private Microsoft 365 training cost?

It depends on the length, the number of sessions, and how much is tailored to your environment. Send a note about who will attend and what they need to learn, and I will reply with a proposed agenda and a quote.
